I help women recognise where they are in their lives, understand the changes that their body goes through during pregnancy and after postpartum chapters, look after their core and pelvic floor and reach the health and fitness goals they want to achieve.

I am a certified Personal Trainer (NASM), Crossfit Level 1 Trainer and Pregnancy & Postpartum Athleticism coach based in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire, UK. I started Mummy Movement after the birth of my little boy.

I have always been good at juggling and spent nearly 20 years in the City in the Comms/Marketing world as well as coaching and playing polo professionally (the horse kind, not the water variety). I am driven and determined and always on the move. When I fell pregnant I really bought into the "fit pregnancy" culture on social media and I had visions of being on maternity leave and having the opportunity to train every day. I did some research online, asked my trainers at the time for advice on training while pregnant and carried on as I had always done – maybe with a slight reduction in weight and intensity. I wish I knew then what I know now…

Fast forward to when my little boy arrived and I was in my fourth trimester and I realised that something really didn’t feel right. Despite being given the all clear by GP at six weeks I found out that I had a vaginal prolapse and was told that I couldn't do the things that I loved doing and I could barely lift my little boy. I felt like my life was over and I felt so symptomatic that my vagina was all I could think about 24/7. What happened after this was a period of learning, accepting, and then when I was ready mentally and physically, rebuilding my body. I realised that I wanted to help women like me take back their lives (and their bodies) and share the knowledge I have learned. I understand what you are going through and how you are feeling now. I know being a mum is a delicate balance of juggling daily life, kids, a partner and family and that finding/committing time devoted to just you ireally hard - and you feel guilty when you do! How many times have you booked a doctor's appointment for your kids, but still not seen your GP for something for you!

If you are suffering from any pelvic floor or core problems, or want to get back to exercise the right way after having kids, there is so much you can do to strengthen your core and pelvic floor and you need to do this before you jump back into exercise. You need to work with someone who understands the changes that happen to your body before and after birth and who can help educate you on this journey.

I decided then that I wanted to be the person I needed to help me while I was pregnant and recovering postpartum - and the Mummy Movement was born.
